Ethanol in gas causes problems in old and new cars.

Hello all readers

I am writing on the new gas E-10 or Ethanol. Its 10% Ethanol, and 90% Gasoline.

The reason I am writing about Ethanol is here in Florida we are using a 10% blend in gas, and I noticed problems sense Febuary 2008 in my 1993 Nissan Stanza Altima, the car started to get bad gas mileage and the car started to stall at red lights, in parking lots, even at the Nissan dealer ship for service,. the car has gotten so bad the car will not run not even for 5 minutes, so I went online looking for gas stations without Ethanol and they no longer carry pure gas without Ethanol,

At the mean time I spent time at Nissan, and Goodyear, Pepboys, Dyna tune, all service stations and repair shops, and not one of them can find anything wrong with the car, and recommend that I change a mass airflow sensor, and Idle control valve, Ox sensor, as well as spark plugs, wire's, cap.
needless to say I have replaced all this and the car still ran very bad, still stalling, black exhaust with alot of water comming out form the tail pipe.(black in color the water is)

I have replaced the fuel pump in May 2008 with the fuel filter, and in July 2008 I had to replace the fuel pump again as well as the fuel fillter,

So at this time my parents found a gas station over 100 miles away, so I brough four fuel cans (5 Gallons each) and drained the (Ethanol of death gas )from my fuel tank, and instatly the car started it stalled about 3 times, then started to run better no more stalling, so I decided to take a road trip drove like a dream, the place I drove to was the gas station 100 miles away, and when I fueled up there my car did 43.47 miles per gallon,

with the Ethanol I was getting only 29 mpg tops when it would run.

and why are they pushing the use of ethanol if its no good to run and does poor fuel economy
I know some say its good, but does Chevrolet lie, does Nissan lie?

wait the FFV can run on ethanol or can they? read blow for chevrolet.

-Ethanol, E-85 has less energy per gallon than gasoline, so you'll need to refill your fuel tank more often when using Ethanol E-85, Also To Use Regular Gasoline when pulling a trailer not to exceed 1000 Lbs, and If you have the 2200 L4 (Code 4) Engine to use only regular gasoline. and If you have the 2200 L4 (code 5) Engine you may use ethanol up to E-85.

1993 Nissan Altima hand book states, this car stalls on Ethanol.

-Nissan does not recommend the use of fuels of which the oxygenate content and the fuel compatibility for your Nissan cannot be readily determined.

-If you use oxygenate-blend gasoline, please take the following precautions as the usage of such fuels may cause vehicle performance problems, and/or fuel system damage.

-If any undesirable driveability problems such as engine stalling and difficult hot-starting are experienced after useing oxygenate-blend fuels, Immediately change to a non-blend of regular gasoline.

1986 XJ6 Jaguar, this car also stalls using Ethanol blend gas.

-States in in its hand bood that you can use up to 10% Ethanol mixture, and if you have or notice driveability problems to switch back to regular gasoline,

A Little History. from microsoft encarta.
In 1979 and early 1980, gasohol, a blend of 90 percent unleaded gasoline and 10 percent ethanol was widely promoted as a fuel extender. Furthermore, because virtually all of the ethanol produced in the United States is derived from domestic grain, gasohol's U.S. origins were stressed, particularly in midwestern farm states. As the tight crude oil supplies of 1979 gave way to a surplus, however, gasohol sales plunged, and several major oil companies discontinued or sharply curtailed retail marketing of gasohol. © 1993-2003 Microsoft Corporation.
